Mr. Jim Minor of Troy passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at his residence. He was 83. Funeral services for Jim Minor will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Roy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Minor Chapel Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. He was born January 24, 1930 in Pennsylvania to the late Enoch Minor and Betty Dewese Cawthorne Minor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ruben Eugene Jarman. He is survived by his wife: Edith Viola Presley Minor, Troy; children: James Franklin “Jimmy” Minor, Jr., William Arthur “Bill” Minor, Rebecca Minor Farmer, all of Newport, N.C; Tabitha Minor Asbill, Daleville; Gloria Faye Whitaker, Troy; and John Clinton Jarman, Troy; 24 grand children and 17 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Whitaker, Ethen Jarman, Michael Childs, Chris Childs, Jay Meredith and Jonathan Jarman.
