8. Antonio Gillespie

7. B.J. Chitty

Last season could have very well been Chitty’s breakout year for Troy had Chip Reeves not returned. Chitty, from Northview HS in Dothan, was rated as the No. 62 athlete in the nation by ESPN.com after throwing for 819 yards and rushing for another 349.

At 6-2, 190, Chitty has proven that he can play both the X- and Z-receiver positions. This year, he will look to take over at the at the Z with Thomas moving over to the Y spot.

Chitty caught 20 passes for 222 yard and 2 touchdowns last season including a 62-yard grab for a score against Navy.

Troy doesn’t need Chitty to be great in his junior season, they need him to be solid. Thomas is going to draw a lot of attention and Chitty will be key in relieving some of that pressure.

He hauled in a season-high five passes against ULL in the second game of the season. I’m sure Troy coaches would like to see him with four to five catches every game in 2013.
