Mr. William D McLendon age 86 of Troy died Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Andrew Knick officiating. Burial will follow in Oak WoodCemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of over 66 years Amie Viola McLendon, his children Amie M. (Tommy) Garrett of Montgomery, Max C. McLendon of Virginia, and Martha M. Moses of Troy, his grandchildren Tommy (Amie) Garrett, Christie (David) Faulkner, William R. (Melanie) McLendon, Morgan (Robert) Menasco, AmieMoses and Justin Moses, his great grandchildren Garrett Faulkner, Grayson Faulkner, Caroline Faulkner, Sarah Garrett, Katie Garrett, Gavin Wade, and Mary Ann McLendon, his sisters Ethel McLendon, Sue Jordan, Mary Lois (John) Sutton, and a brother Melvin (Nora) McLendon.

He was preceded in death by a son William Douglas “Buddy” McLendon, his parents Will D. and Flossie McLendon, sisters Ester McLendon, Nellie McLendon and a brother Raymon Mclendon.

His grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

His fellow workers at the postal service will be honorary pallbearers.
