A Banks woman was killed, along with a 14-year-old from Georgia, in a two-vehicle crash on Alabama 93 Friday morning, according to Alabama State Troopers .

Tammy Johnson, 44, was killed when the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van that she was driving collided with a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Marcus Peoples, 27, of Warner Robins, Ga.

A passenger in the Altima, Celeste Burgess, of Winston Salem, N.C., was pronounced dead at Southeast Alabama Medical Center Friday afternoon.

Peoples, as well as another passenger in his vehicle and two passengers in Johnson’s vehicle were all transported for medical treatment. Passengers were identified by Troopers as Joshua Townsend, 19, of Banks; Tyri Bradham, 23, of Banks; and Leslie Peoples, 23, of Daleville.

Troopers reported the crash happened about 9:55 a.m. at the 5.5-mile marker, 2.6 miles north of Brundidge.

Troy Fire & Rescue, Banks Volunteer Fire Department, Brundidge Volunteer Fire Department, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Alabama State Troopers, CARE Ambulance, Haynes Ambulance and a LifeFlight helicopter responded to the crash.

No further information is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
