Mason Lawrence Bowden McLendon, age 21, passed unexpectedly in to the loving arms of Jesus on June 3, 2013, in Brundidge, Alabama. Mason was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Mason was born on November 2, 1991. He is survived by his mother, Betsy Dickert Bowden of Quincy, FL., sister Catherine Rose Bowden, of Quincy, FL., beloved grandparents Lawrence and Sara Bowden, of Brundidge. Several Aunts and Uncles: Laura and Jim Carpenter of Andalusia, AL., Larry and Julia Bowden of Hartford, NC.; Beth and Mike Welch of Columbus, GA.; Ben and Angie Bowden of Andalusia, AL.. Cousins Seth, Mandy and Rowan Barbaree of Columbus, GA., Meredith, Matt and Bowden Spring of Columbus, GA., Jacob and Charles Bowden of Hartford, NC., Anna Beth and Simeon Bowden of Andalusia, AL. He is also survived by his father, Joey McLendon, Aunt Debbie and Aunt Vicki.

Mason graduated from Pike Liberal Arts in the class of 2010 and attended Auburn University Montgomery. He was currently employed at Pike PC in Brundidge.

Mason enjoyed playing his bass guitar, gaming, movies, listening to music and visiting with friends.

He had a special friend – Callie Mae, who met Mason at the door with a meow and a purr.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that memorials be sent to the Brundidge United Methodist Church, 140 North Main Street, Brundidge, AL. 36010, to the Mason Lawrence Bowden McLendon Memorial Fund.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Brundidge United Methodist Church at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:30 at the church. Reverends Michael Lawler, Richard Holmes, Jimmie Spikes, and Larry Bowden will be officiating. Graveside services will follow the funeral.
