Miracle League yard sale postponed

A yard sale to benefit the Miracle League Playground scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed.

The sale will now be held on June 8, in hopes of garnering more participation.

“We’ve had lots of donations, but only a couple of people have signed up for booths,” said Lisa Holmes, with Troy Parks and Recreation. “I think it’s because this is Relay for Life weekend and just a busy time of year, so we decided to push it back a little until after school gets out.”

Booth spaces are $20 and include one 8-foot table and two chairs. The booth fee goes directly to the Miracle League Playground project and renters keep the money from their sales.

Item donations are also welcome. All money raised from the donations goes to the Miracle League Playground fund.

“So far we have lots of clothing donated,” Holmes said. “We have baby items. We have high chairs, strollers and car seats.”

Someone has even pledged to donate an entertainment center, desk and dinette set, Holmes added.

Holmes said organizers hope to fill the gym with yard sale booths. During the last yard sale to benefit the Miracle League Playground, there were 10 booths and about $800 raised for the project.

Spaces can be reserved by calling Lisa Holmes at 670-6069, or by visiting the Troy Parks and Recreation Department on Enzor Road.

The Miracle League Playground will feature a safety surface and will be wheelchair accessible. There will be activities appropriate for all children to be able to play together.
