Senn was also in the yard and taken into custody, along with a pistol found at the scene.

The woman was transported first to the Troy Regional Medical Center in critical condition and then airlifted to Baptist South in Montgomery.

The case is under investigation by the Troy Police Department, but was an incident of domestic violence, according to police.

“To my knowledge, we haven’t responded to any prior domestic disputes at this location,” said Troy Police Lt. Bryan Weed. “There was no regular history here like there is in some cases. Obviously, it’s been ongoing internally for them, though.”

Senn will be held in the Pike County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

April is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Weed said family violence isn’t uncommon in the city.

“We go to a lot of domestic calls, but rarely do they ever get to this level,” Weed said.
