A Troy man has been arrested after allegedly shooting another man in broad daylight Wednesday afternoon in Troy.

Roderick R. Givens, 21, was arrested for attempted murder, according to Troy Police.

At about 4:12 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting near a convenience store in the 800 block of North Three Notch Street.

When officers arrived, they found one black male had been shot in the right leg with a pistol.

According to police, the wound was not life threatening.

Officers tracked Givens down using a vehicle description given by witnesses. Givens was located in a home on William Street. After some time, Givens surrendered to officers without further trouble.

Givens has been transported to the Pike County Jail and his bond has been set at $50,000.

Givens also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a felony drug charge.
