Timothy H. Green, 34, and his son Timothy Blake Green, 14, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Pike County coroner.

Alabama State Troopers say the wreck is under investigation, but speed and the use of an electronic device were both factors in the fatal wreck.

Three more people – one adult and two children – were also in the vehicle and were taken to Troy Regional Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown Wednesday night, according to State Troopers.

Troopers said Timothy Green was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when he ran off the road. The vehicle struck a tree and overturned.

Seat belts were not being used at the time of the crash.

Troy Police Department, State Troopers, Hamilton Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, Brundidge Volunteer Fire Department and Troy Fire Department responded to the crash.

No further information about the wreck was available at deadline Wednesday.
