The 4th Annual P.E.O. Fashion Show Luncheon Fundraiser is set for 11:30 a.m. on April 6 at the Family Life Center of Park Memorial United Methodist Church.

Elaine Bassett, a member of the local P.E.O., said this year’s fashion show will be somewhat different from the previous shows.

“We decided to have models that look more like us,” she said, with a smile. “We want to showcase fashions that are for the average woman. Many of the models will be members of our P.E.O. Chapter and they will be modeling fashions from First Impressions and Pink Parlor. Both shops have been so support of our fashion show fundraiser. We really appreciate their willingness to let us come into their shops and try on clothes. They have been wonderful.”

Admission to the 4th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon Fundraiser is $10 and includes a chicken salad luncheon, entertainment and the fashion show.

The entertainment will be presented by dancers who performed in Troy University’s recent production of “Chicago.”

“We will also have an assortment of items for sale including baked good and ferns, so everyone is encouraged to bring along some money in case you find something you want to buy,” Bassett said.

All funds raised by the fashion show will support the educational and charitable fund of the P.E.O., which is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women.

“P.E.O. chapters raise funds to educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of our own Cottey College and to motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations,” Bassett said. “P.E.O. is an educational organization but you don’t have to be an educator to be a member. You just have to care about education for women, believe in God and want to support a cause with a strong bond of connection.”

Tickets for the P.E.O. Chapter AF 4th Annual Fashion Show Luncheon Fundraiser may be purchased at First Impressions and the Pink Parlor on the square in downtown Troy or via email at ebnasset@troy.edu. Some tickets will be available at the door.
