Don’t forget the diapers

If you have tickets for the Sav-A-Life Low Country Boil Friday night and you forget your diapers, you won’t get a Green Egg.

Lois Finlay, Sav-A-Life director, said, as a reminder, for each package of diapers donated to the fundraiser, the ticket holder’s name will be entered in the drawing for a Big Green Egg grill.

“You can bring as many packages of diapers as you wish,” Finlay said. “The more diapers you bring the more chances you have to win.”

The Low County Boil is a sell-out and that’s great news for the annual Sav-A-Life fundraiser.

“We hope that everyone who bought a ticket will be there because we’ll have some really great food and silent auction items,” Finlay said.

Chef Carter Sanders and Jim Thomas will combine their culinary talents for the Low Country Boil. Sanders will be doing the Low Country cooking and Jim Thomas will be “boiling” his famous “YaYa” grits.

The Scratch Band will provide the entertainment during the dining and the bidding.

“We have more than 300 items on the silent auction table and people can begin bidding at 5:30 p.m. and food will be served around 6 p.m. The bidding will end at 7 p.m.,” Finlay said.

The silent auction will offer everything from vintage jewelry, woodworking, porch swings, tools, kids’ stuff, designer handbags, Easter baskets and artwork to week-long vacation packages to Costa Rica and the mountains of North Carolina.
