Mr. Henry L. Greene Jr., of Troy died Friday, February 01, 2013 in Troy.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 2:15 pm from the Oak Grove Cemetery in Troy with Reverend Jim Powell officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Mr. Greene was born in Pike County where he was called Junior. He graduated from Pike County High School where he met his future wife Tiney to whom he was married for 63 years. They Lived in Glendale, CA, where he helped build aircraft for Lockheed. He later served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received during the Battle of The Bulge. He was in the timber business and moved to Montgomery in 1953 where he worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company and then became the manager/owner of Henry’s Finance Company.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law James R. and Anlie Greene of Birmingham a daughter and son-in-law Linda and Ronnie Morgan of Troy, two grandsons Ron and Michael Morgan, 4 Great-grandchildren Clayton, Kaytlin, Alex and Kacey Morgan, a sister Juanita Weed a brother Charles Green and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances “Tiney” Greene and his parents Henry and Ida Green
Honorary pallbearers will be Coley Allen, Louise Carr, Frances Wood, Jere and Sara Beasley, Dr. Alan Young, Jimmy and Dale Law and the Staff of Noble manor and the St. James UMC Men’s Coffee Club.
In Lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, 403 Childs Road, Troy, AL 36081.
