Mae Penn, age 84 of Troy, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Noland Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. David McVay officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Penn was an avid gardener, loved to travel and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Realous Wesley and Lucy Havens Byrd; husband, Bobby Penn; granddaughter, Michele Strother and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by son, Larry Penn (Kay); daughters, Missy Strother (Joey), Pamela Nix (Donnie); grandchildren, Brynn Nix Howell, Hank Nix (Sunny), Annsley Strother, Shelby Strother, Bobbi Jo Strother Davis (Audie), Stacey Penn Dean (David), Mandy Penn Glenn (Sheridan), Larri Kay Penn Cafiero (Mark); great grandchildren, McKenzie Johnson, Reed Johnson, Kendall Savoie, Zack Glenn; numerous nieces and nephews and a special pet Izzy.

Pallbearers will be Bill Pockstaller, Jim Pockstaller, David Dean, Sheridan Glenn, Reed Johnson and Audie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Burtt, Roy Seymore, Kendall Savoie, Mike Penn and Ricky Penn. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, the Pike County Humane Society or charity of choice.
