Kleob Nicholas Loflin, Jr.

Kleob Nicholas Loflin, Jr. (age 72) of Lake Jordan, AL transitioned from his life on this earth to his heavenly life on December 17, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kleob Nicholas Loflin, Sr. and Corina Sanders Loflin of Troy, AL.

Mr. Loflin attended Troy City Schools and graduated from Troy University in 1963 were he majored in Mathematics.  While attending Troy University, he met the love of his life, Patricia (Pat)Armstrong of Greenville, Alabama.

Mr. Loflin retired in 2000 from the City of Montgomey where he was the Director of Planning and Programming for twenty years.  During this time he served as President of the Janice Capilouto Center for the Deaf Easter Seal foundation; was instrumental in forming the Building Our Neighborhoods for Development and Success (BONDS) for the City and various other non-profit organizations.

After retirement he and Pat relocated to Lake Jordan.  Where Mr. Loflin became an active member of the Wetumpka Crater Impact Study Committee and various other activities involving the City of Wetumpka.

He served  for six years as head of the Shuttle Committee for the LPGA Classic at RTJ and 5 years as chairman of other events such as the Nike Event and the PGA Tour Event.  He was a member of the Montgomery Golf Association, and a member of The Pines golf course in Millbrook, AL.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Pat) Armstrong Loflin, daughters, Rachel Loflin, Rebecca Finley (Bill), son Nick Loflin (Kerry), and grandchildren Nicholas and Kayla Loflin.

For those who knew and loved Kleob, we will miss his warm smile, his love of family, friends and life, and his ability to converse with all he met.

Mr. Loflin was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Montgomery, AL

A celebration of Kleob’s life will be held at 2:00pm on January 19, 2013 at the Montgomery Marriott Prattville Hotel and Conference Center at Capitol Hill, 2500 Legends Circle, Prattville, AL
