Joel Macon Ellis, age 88 of Ramer, died December 25, 2012 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery in Ramer, with Rev. Lenny Bolton officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Ellis was a past member of the Elks Lodge in Atlanta, GA. He retired as a Sr. Master Sgt. in the Air Force after nearly 27 years of service where he served in World War II and Vietnam. He attended Pine Level Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Ellis; mother, Ella Lee Ellis; father, Macon Ellis; four brothers, Thurman Ellis, Charles Ellis, Chester Ellis and Gerald Ellis; a sister, Genevieve Cochran. He is survived by his wife, Jeneal Ellis; son, Lloyd Ellis; daughters, Vivian Rogers (Johnny), Juanita Ritenour; sister, Thelma Ellis Dowdy (George); grandchildren, Landon Ellis, Liam Ellis, Matthew Rogers, Eric Ritenour and Scott Ritenour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at PO Box 5, Pine Level, AL 36069. Family and friends can sign the guest book on the website at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ellis family.
