Waverly Briggs Stephens, age 80 of Goshen, died, Sunday, December 2, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating. Burial will follow in the Wingard Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mr. Stephens was a member and a deacon of Good Hope Baptist Church. He retired from C.F. Halstead Construction in Montgomery, AL after 32 years of service and was the owner of A-1 Mobile Home Moving Service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Stephens, daughter, Sandra Jean Stephens, son, Sammy Stephens; an infant son and his half sister, Evelyn Briggs Rhodes. He is survived by his wife, Tinnie Stephens; sons, Waverly Stephens, Jr., Michael Edge Stephens; step-daughters, Sharon Patton (Paul), Cindy Guy (Jerry), Jan Hill (Gary); thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Good Hope Baptist Church.
