J.G. “Bo” Davis of the Shellhorn Community near Troy died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. He was 87. Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home of Troy with Rev. Richard Henderson officiating. A private committal will follow at Murphy’s Chapel in Needmore with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was a farmer and served the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years – Ethel Ray Davis; his brothers, Esker Davis (Sallie), James E. Davis (Dorothy), Jack O. Davis (Nancy) and A.C. Castleberry; and sister-in-law, Minnie Catherine Davis, all of Pike County.

He is survived by a son, William Lamar Davis (Debra) of Troy; a daughter, Jenny C. Davis of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Pugh D. Davis and O.G. Castleberry (Janice); two sisters-in-law, Eva Mae Hussey and Janice Castleberry; two grandchildren, Kellie D. Henderson (Richard) and Jim G. Davis; and a great-granddaughter, Carly Jean Henderson, all of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Davis, Paul Davis, Roy Davis, Mike Adams, Olin Ray Davis and Jimmy Charles Davis.
