ABC agents and officers from the Troy Police Department shut down a shot house in Troy Sunday.

Patricia Henderson, of 107 Henderson Drive, was given an arrest ticket and a court date after officers served a search warrant based on neighbors’ complaints that Henderson was illegally selling alcohol.

“Agents confiscated about 280 beers and nine bottles of assorted liquor,” said Lt. Thomas Price with the Alabama ABC Board’s Enforcement Division.

Troy Police Chief Jimmy Ennis said the police department has a great working relationship with ABC and appreciates the agency’s backup when it comes to the sale of illegal alcohol.

“We don’t need people operating shot houses. It’s not good for the neighborhood and we’re trying to do something about those issues,” Ennis said.

ABC Agent Geoffrey Owens is the case agent on the alcohol charges, along with Robert L. Barton, Jeremy Jones and Marvin Williford, Price said.

“We enjoy working with the Troy Police Department,” Price said. “We want to help do what we can to aid in shutting these shot houses down.”
