Flags are out in downtown Troy showin Trojan pride before Troy’s home game against Florida International University.

Just because there is a noon kick-off when the Trojans take on Florida International University doesn’t mean there won’t be tailgating before the game.

The City of Troy Tourism Department, Pike County Chamber of Commerce and downtown business owners invite fans from both teams to shop, eat and experience downtown beginning at 10 a.m.

Susie Wood will provide live music and visitors to the downtown area won’t have to worry about trying to find a parking spot later at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Shuttles are available three hours before kick-off and will run every 15 minutes until kick-off.

Return shuttles will begin immediately following the game and will run for an hour following the game.

The downtown pick-up is in front of Byrd Drug and the pick-up, drop-off spot at the university is directly in front of the Alumni House on Highland Avenue.

There’s plenty of green space to pitch a tent downtown near the live music in the gazebo and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Office will be open for restrooms, maps and local information.

Visitors are encouraged to shop while they tailgate since many stores will have gameday specials and extended hours.
