Mr. William R. “Buck” Wilkins of Troy passed away at his residence Friday, October 12, 2012. He was 83. Graveside services for William R. “Buck” Wilkins will be held at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Rick Hayes officiating, Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation for Mr. Wilkins will be held from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Mr. Wilkins was born September 23, 1929 in Fort Gaines, GA, son of the late William R. Wilkins, Sr. and Georgia Marie Garrison Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for 3 years. He was an assistant engineer for the Alabama Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his wife: Katherine Wilkins, infant son, Steve Wilkins, his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his son: Robert R. Wilkins, Troy; daughter and son-in-law: Joan (Keith) Barron, Troy; granddaughter: Katie Wilkins, Troy; a special friend: Lyndal English, Geneva, AL; several nieces and nephews.
