Students from Union Springs and Banks School donned hats and played “She’ll be Comin’ Round the Mountain” on percussion instruments.

More than 300 students from all across the area attended Pioneer Days at the Museum of Alabama Friday.

Pioneer Days continue today at the museum on U.S. Highway 231 North in Troy.

Kari Barley, museum director, said the students enjoyed the living history event and were able to acquire first-hand knowledge of the way those who pioneered Pike County and Alabama lived and worked.
