Troy releases pink balloons today

Several dozen pink balloons will fly over Troy today as city employees come together to honor those in the community who have fought or lost the battle with breast cancer.

The event to kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed until 11 a.m. today due to inclement weather.

“This is great for the city to be able to share awareness in honor of those who we lost, who are survivors or those who are still fighting,” said Tiffany Caddell, special projects coordinator for the City of Troy. “Breast cancer is so common now. It affects us all.”
