Woman arrested for theft by fraud
Published 11:00pm Thursday, September 6, 2012Troy police have arrested a local woman for selling raffle tickets for a drawing to help a fictitious child with a disease.
According to Troy Police Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, Lisa Gail Haynes, 43, was arrested Thursday and charged with theft by deception.
Scarbrough said Haynes sold about 450 tickets at $2 each to people in the Troy area. Haynes told buyers the raffle to win money was a fund-raiser to help a child who was suffering from an illness.
Haynes’ bond was set at $2,500 for her theft charge.
No other information is being released regarding this case at this time.

This is why I don’t buy raffle tickets or contribute to fund raisers that I know nothing about. It would have been the perfect crime, but someone threw salt in her game (told on her).
