Pack the stands this weekend for Troy opener

So a group of Troy University students wants to pack the stands this weekend as the Trojans play their first home game of the season at 6 p.m. Saturday at University Louisiana-Lafayette.

We’d like to see them succeed.

This year promises to be a watershed season for the Trojans. Excitement is high as two big-name schools – Mississippi State University and the U.S. Naval Academy – will travel to Troy to play the Trojans. And, after an exciting, on-the-road season-opening win against in-state rivals at UAB, the Trojans are off to a strong start.

We need to suport them along the way, and that starts by turnout for Saturday’s game. Take a few hours to head to Tailgate Terrace to enjoy the food and fellowship, then head to the stands and cheer on the Trojans.

Remember that Game Day can be big business for our community, and just as important, our turnout and support speaks volumes about the support our community provides Troy University.

We need to let our Trojan spirit show this week and pack the stands at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Let’s show the folks from ULL how our community rallies around their Trojans.
