Troy volunteer assistant Wesley Person arrested on traffic violations

Troy women’s volunteer assistant coach Wesley Person was arrested late Sunday by Elba police and held in the Coffee County Jail on six misdemeanor charges.

Person was arrested for failure to appear charges on six traffic tickets.

The former NBA star paid the $1,500 bond and paid all of the outstanding tickets after a Dale County Circuit Court hearing and was released.

Person is a Brantley High School graduate and attended Auburn University before entering the NBA draft. He played 11 seasons in the NBA with seven different teams.

Troy head coach Michael Murphy declined to comment before speaking with Person.
