George Albert ‘Al’ Shipman

George Albert “Al” Shipman, age 57, of Troy, died Friday, December 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Lawson Bryan and Dr. Malone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Pea River Cemetery near Louisville with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Al is survived by his wife, Lisa Bryant Shipman of Troy; children, Brandi Elizabeth Henderson of Troy and Justin Mark Henderson of Japan; a sister and brother-in-law, June and Jerry Knotts of Montgomery; niece and nephew, Angela Knotts and Michael Knotts both of Montgomery; a brother-in-law, Reggie Bryant of Fairhope; special cousins, Catherine and Gary Urwin; and a host of caring family and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Henderson, Michael Knotts, David Hinson, James Sikes, Ronny Shiver, Herby Haisten, Jerry Spurlock, H.G. Hayes, Mike Mabray, Larry Jarrell, Jim Clower, Al Vann, and Arthur Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Haisten Shipman & Wiggins PC and Members of the Board of Directors of the Farmers Exchange Bank of Louisville.
