SCOTTSBORO – Troy’s Dixie Angels faced 10 Scottsboro batters and struck out nine of them in rout to a 10-0 victory in the Dixie Angels state tournament Saturday night.

Bailey Rushing punched out six in two innings in the circle for Troy. Hanna Calhoun pitched the third inning and struck out all three batters she faced. Neither pitcher allowed a hit.

Sidney Armstrong was 2-for-2 at the plate with four RBIs. Rushing and Molly Sanders also collected two hits each.

Holly Hughes, Kelsey Gibson, Gracie Scarbrough, Nelsey Leverette, Brook Bennett, and Tucker Earles all had singles for Troy.

With the win, Troy advances to play Rogersville at 3:30 p.m. today.
